The other day, while riding around my neighborhood, I rode right through a swarm of bees. It was quite an amazing sight. The air seemed electric with a high pitch buzz. I stood and watched a few minuets, snapping a few pictures, till the swarm gathered in a tree. I rode home having added a new FIRST to my mental checklist.
Reminds me of an experience that SWMBO and I had while driving across country in a long haul produce truck in another life. I not sure where is was but we hit a swarm of bees and the windshield went blank. Instant goo. We didn't hear any buzzing just the big diesel, the whine of the turbo and the hiss of the air brakes. No good in keeping on if you can't see out. We had a great deal of trouble cleaning it off as it was the consistency of honey. Now we sit in the yard in the evenings and watch the bees in the clover and cater to their taste for all the ones we accidentally killed.
